We recently had a person ask about our Ruby Red Gruvyer Chairs after seeing the image below. We wrote them the following reply:
The chair shown in that image is our Ruby Red Gruvyer Spiderweb design polycarbonate chair from iGap UpOn in Italy. This chair comes in three translucent colors - Ruby Red, Smoke Grey and See-Through Brown. The most popular color, however, is the Transparent. This is a clear material that is the same as our Ghost Chairs. The Gruvyer design is also available in 16 brilliant opaque colors, including Orange, Red, White, Black, Anthracite Grey, Ivory, Mocha Brown, Blue Grey, Yellow, Sage Green, Pearl Grey, Jute Beige, Green, Sky Blue, Petrol Turquoise Blue, and Storm Blue.
These chairs are made out of a polycarbonate materials in their factory in Northern Italy by experienced Italian artisans. Polycarbonate is an extremely strong material that is also used for hurricane windows. It can be extremely clear, but withstands intense impact and pressure. We have seen videos of these chairs being run over by a forklift and never breaking.
